Privacy policy
What Goalwise keeps on your phone, what it backs up if you sign in, and what never leaves your phone.
- You can use Goalwise without an account. Then everything stays on your phone and we never receive any of it.
- If you sign in with Google, a copy of your plan is backed up so it syncs to your other phones.
- The text of your bank SMS and payment notifications never leaves your phone, signed in or not.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell or share your data.
- You can delete your cloud copy and account from the app at any time.
Who we are
Goalwise is made by Synthetia Labs in India ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, email contact@fracgc.in.
What's stored on your phone
Goalwise keeps your data in its own storage on your phone:
- your take-home salary, spending caps and the first name you enter;
- what you spend and money you receive, with any notes you add;
- your goals, how much you've saved and your deadlines;
- payments read from messages, waiting for you to confirm them.
Without signing in, none of this is sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it. Use Plan → Back up your data to keep a copy.
Payment messages
Goalwise can log spending from your payment messages, only if you set it up:
- iPhone: only messages that a Shortcuts automation you create sends to Goalwise, or that you share or paste in yourself. Goalwise can't read your messages on its own.
- Android: if you allow notification access, Goalwise reads notifications from a fixed list of UPI, bank and SMS apps, and ignores all others without looking at them. You can turn this off in Android's settings, or pause it in Plan.
Goalwise reads the amount, who was paid, the date and the reference from the message, on your phone. The message text is deleted as soon as you confirm or dismiss the payment. Message text is never uploaded, and it isn't included in backup files.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional. It turns on cloud backup, so your plan stays in sync across your phones.
What we receive from Google
Your name, email address and Google account ID. We use them only to sign you in. We don't get your Google password or anything else in your Google account.
What's backed up
Your salary and caps, spending and money in (with notes), goals, payments read from messages (amount, payee, date and reference only), your categorising rules and the first name you entered.
What's never backed up
The text of payment messages, onboarding you haven't finished, the sample plan, and settings that belong to one phone (such as pausing automatic logging).
Where it's kept
With Supabase, our database and sign-in provider, in their Mumbai, India region. It's sent over an encrypted connection. Each account can only read and write its own data; the database enforces this.
Who can see it
You. As the people who run Goalwise, we can technically access the database. We do so only to keep the service working or when you ask us for help. Supabase and Google process data for us only to provide their services.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads, use analytics or crash reporting, or track you across apps and websites.
- We don't sell, rent or share your data, and we don't use it to build a profile of you.
- We don't use your data to decide anything about you, such as credit.
Keeping, getting and deleting your data
- Get a copy: Plan → Back up your data saves everything in a file you keep.
- Correct it: edit anything in the app; if you're signed in, the cloud copy updates too.
- Delete your cloud copy and account: Plan → Delete my cloud data. This deletes your account and the backed-up copy straight away. Your phone keeps its own copy until you delete it or the app.
- Sign out: the cloud copy stays, so you can sign in again later. Delete it as above if you don't want it kept.
We keep your cloud copy for as long as you have an account. You can also ask us to delete it, or ask anything about your data, by email. We'll reply within 30 days.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw your consent (by deleting your cloud data or signing out and deleting it), and raise a complaint with us. If you're not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Goalwise is for adults managing their own salary. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly back up data for them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect, we'll tell you in the app first.
